Academy for the Performing Arts – Huntington Beach High School, CA

(2012 - 2015)

Taught and mentored high school students. Also managed the costume shop. Self-created curriculum focused on the design process and cultivating creativity in addition to basic sewing and costume construction. Students were supervised in design, wardrobe crew, and construction of costumes for school productions, which often have additional ensemble members and/or double casting, with up to one hundred cast members. Students majored in Costume Design at Cal Arts, Chapman University, Smith College, and FIDM.

Responsibilities included costume construction and alterations, plus some crafts and dye work.  Also assisted with fittings and some patterning.

Shows include: Dames at Sea, Comedy of Errors, A Christmas Carol, Angels in America, Metamorphoses, Sweet Smell of Success, and a number of dance shows.

Chapman University – Orange, CA                 

(2011, 2014 – 2015)

Assisted with construction, alterations, and craft work.  Served as Design Assistant and Wardrobe Head for American Celebration: 2011, a musical revue fundraiser with over 100 student performers.
